Correcting Misconceptions About

the Correlation Between Torque and Stiffness

Many golfers and fitters believe that if torque is low, the shaft must be stiff, but this is a misconception born from viewing only a physical cross-section.

Through its polygonal mandrel design technology, KGST maintains vertical stiffness

while independently controlling only torsional stiffness with exceptional precision.

As a result, golfers experience an unprecedented physical sensation—

maintaining a soft impact feel while achieving extreme directional stability.

4-2.

The Impact of Elastic Recovery Rate on
Distance and Directionality

The true performance of a shaft is not defined merely by how much it bends, but by how quickly and at precisely the right timing it returns to its original shape.

This recovery speed determines the additional acceleration of head speed and becomes the decisive factor in squaring the clubface at the moment of impact.
KGST physically calculates this elastic recovery rate

to simultaneously capture both distance and directionality.

4-3.

Energy Transfer Efficiency per Shaft Node

Energy generated from the golfer’s hands travels through the shaft to the club head.

KGST does not view the shaft as a simple rod,

but as an organic collection of interconnected nodes structured in 1-inch increments.

By optimizing stiffness at each node to prevent dispersion or loss of energy between segments, we achieve “ultimate transfer efficiency,” ensuring that all energy generated by the golfer is delivered to the ball without loss.

4-4.

Converting Feel into Numbers

KGST’s Algorithm

The subjective sensations golfers describe as “soft,” “responsive,” or “solid” are, in reality, the result of physical data.

KGST’s proprietary algorithm perfectly converts these abstract sensations into numerical values and graphical representations of an EI Profile.

Golfers no longer need to rely on vague feelings,
but can encounter a shaft engineered through scientifically validated numerical data that reflects their own sensation.
